Descriere

The Extreme Ice Survey uses time-lapse and conventional photography, along with digital video, to document the rapid melting of glacial ice. At 15 Northern Hemisphere sites, 26 cameras capture about 4,000 images each per year, recording glaciers from Alaska to Iceland and the Alps. Launched in fall 2006 and scheduled to continue until late summer 2009, the project is expected to create an archive of more than 300,000 photographs. This visual record supports research and a traveling museum exhibition designed to inform the public about global warming and the changing climate. Mai mult
